Jennifer Allen

Biography: Jennifer Allen holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas and is a Registered Nurse. She also attended Cleveland Chiropractic College and has taught Anatomy and Physiology at Butler County Community College. Jennifer is currently homeschooling her two sons. She is married to Kevin and enjoys working with her husband in his chiropractic practice. The Allen family attends Central Christian Church.


Mo Barnhart

Biography: Mo Barnhart was homeschooled on a dairy farm in rural KS. She studied Art History for several years at WSU until she began teaching her own children. She has now been homeschooling for over 20 years. Educating and inspiring learning in a creative atmosphere is extremely important to her. She is blesssed to be the mother of 3 -the older two are young adults and her youngest is currently in middle school. She has been married to her husband Breck, a landscape architect, for 23 years and together they have created an eclectic and artistic home for their family. She is very involved with their congregation, L'Chaim B'Yeshua.


Joy Bergquist

Biography: Joy has been drawn to working with children since her first job at a daycare in high school and has always looked for opportunities to pour into the lives of children. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Friends University in 2002. After graduation she worked in the Wichita public school district through the homebound program until beginning a family in 2005. She will begin her 7th year of homeschooling this Fall. Her home classroom includes 4 boys ages 4, 6, 8 and 10. This year she and her husband Chris are celebrating 15 years of marriage. They are members of Cornerstone Fellowship where he leads worship and she leads the children's ministry.


Melody Campbell

Biography: Melody is the is a mother of five children ranging from college age to elementary. She and her husband, Russ, recently celebrated 24 years of marriage. Their family attends River Community Church. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethel College. Although she is not currently practicing nursing, she has many opportunities to use her skills and knowledge with her immediate and extended family. She loves many forms of exercising including running, swimming, weight-lifting and hiking. She feels that physical fitness is for everyone at every stage of life.


Felicia Doll

Biography: Felicia has a BS in Art and Math Education from Friends University. Felicia enjoyed starting an art program in the Rose Hill public schools, teaching Pre-K through sixth grade for 10 years before becoming a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom. Felicia and her husband Randy have three daughters, and are members of Central Christian Church.


Juliana Doolittle

Biography: My name is Juliana Doolittle but everyone calls me Juli. I am the oldest of 6 children and love kids. I have assisted dance classes for 4 years and have been teaching my own for 4. I am 17 years old and a junior in high school. I am taking college classes and plan to become a nurse. My family and I attend Life.Church and I am on the Andover YMCA swim team.


Rachel Grebe

Biography: Rachel has been homeschooling for 16 years. She holds B.A. degrees in Psychology and German from Kansas State University. She has been involved in music and theater since childhood--as a performer, a director/instructor, and a stage mom--and feels blessed to have been able to share her many passions with CHFM students for the past 8 years. In addition to a variety of music and theater classes, she has taught high school Psychology and Personal Finance. She enjoys reading, doing research about education, and spending time with her family, which will soon include a grandchild! The family attends Central Christian Church.


June Johnson

Biography: June Johnson has been a secondary teacher for over 30 years. She has taught English, drama, mythology and Shakespeare in Christian schools, homeschool, and at Derby High School. Since retirement from Derby, she has stayed busy with reading, writing, gardening, and teaching homeschool students. She taught English with Literature at CHFM for the 2015-2016 school year. June has three children, 17 grandchildren, and a cat named Chloe.


Sarah Jordan

Biography: Sarah Jordan holds a BS degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Early Childhood, Math 5-9, and Science 5-9 from Kansas State University. Sarah taught in Valley Center and for the Edison Project before having children. Currently, she is staying home to home school her three children Slate, Landry and Laken. Sarah has spent the past 3 years teaching classes in the home school groups they have been involved with. Her husband, Phillip, is an architect. The Jordan family worships at Central Christian Church.


Kim Klein

Biography: Kim Klein has been directing for Christian Youth Theatre for 8 years. She has also directed and assisted productions for Sunrise Christian Academy, as well as, performing and directing for her church, First Mennonite Brethren. She feels theatre is an incredible tool to impact people for GodÕs kingdom. She also believes it is a valuable tool in self discovery and confidence that will strengthen the student to confidently and accurately present themselves in any public forum. She and her husband Tom have 5 children, 3 adult children and two younger children, which, they adopted 9 years ago from Guatemala. She has been homeschooling the youngest two, Andrea, who is 13 years and Tobias who is 10 for the last 2 years.


Melissa McConeghey

Biography: Melissa attended Cair Paravel Latin School, a classical Christian school in Topeka, Kansas from kindergarten to twelfth grade and received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Kansas State University. She taught fourth grade for two years at a classical Christian school in Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Wichita in 2005 with her husband John, to continue his medical education at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He began his medical practice in Newton in 2012. Melissa delights in homeschooling their five children—Isaac, Ailee, James, Levi and Josiah—and enjoys music, reading, and learning new things in her spare time. The McConeghey family attends Heartland Community Church.


Darla Mill

Biography: Darla is the wife to Jason and the mom of five blessings. These two positions take up most of her time but she also loves teaching science, gardening, cooking, and reading. She also enjoys encouraging families in their homeschool endeavors. She has a Bachelor of General Science from Wichita State with emphases in biology, history and psychology. Their family attends church at Calvary Family.

Kathy Morris

Biography: I have been married to Jeff since 1991 and have been blessed with 4 children, all of whom I homeschooled. I have a BS in Psychology from Kansas State University and a Master’s in Education in Counseling from the University of Dayton. I teach Bible Study, and have worked with Youth and young adults for many years. I also coach cheerleading.


Laura Murfin

Biography: Laura Murfin holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. After graduating from college, Laura joined the Mercy Ships for 2 1/2 years and served on board the M/V Anastasis in Africa and Europe. She is a stay-at-home mom, and homeschools her 6 daughters. She is married to Jim Murfin.


Silvia Petit

Biography: Silvia is a native Spanish speaker who was born in Guatemala and lived in Mexico for 5 years. Silvia has traveled to El Salvador, Peru and Spain. She came to the U.S. in 2000 to work at Salem Evangelical Free Church in Staten Island, New York. Silvia married Greg in 2003 and the family moved to Wichita in 2007. They have two children. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from The Central American Theological Seminary. She has been tutoring/teaching Spanish to individuals and/or groups of all ages in Wichita since 2010.


Deanna Phillips

Biography: Deanna has a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and is a homeschooling mother of two. She has made her home in Augusta for the last 7 years. She is excited for the opportunity to serve the families of CHFM by caring for their small children in the nursery and COL programs. God has given her a passion to help encourage, nurture, and share His love to children. She is looking forward to planting many seeds of God’s unfailing Word this coming year!


Pam Rivera

Biography: Formerly a public school teacher, Pam has homeschooled for more than ten years. She has 3 children in grades 3, 5 and 9. She has been blessed to teach classes at the CHFM co-op for the last five years. Homeschooling her own children and teaching others how to be successful followers of Christ and leaders in their communities is a passion of hers.


Jan Ryel

Biography: Jan holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Kansas State University. She worked as a scientist at Sigma Chemical Company in St. Louis from 1994-1996 isolating and purifying phosphatidylcholine; then as a cancer research scientist at what is now called the Riordan Clinic from 1996-1998 before becoming a stay at home mom and homeschooling her children. Jan is a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, a running enthusiast, and nutrition nut. She is married to Marshall and has three children.


Cynthia Shelden

Biography: Cynthia Shelden is wife to Stan and mother to five daughters, age 16-24. For the last 20+ years she has been blessed to homeschool her girls, and she has also taught writing to several small co-op classes. Cynthia holds a B.A. in French from Kansas State University and a Master of Education with a reading specialty from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Since two of her girls are dyslexic, she also pursued training as an academic language therapist. In this second year of teaching at CHFM, she prays that she will be a blessing to the homeschool families she is assisting. These verses are particularly meaningful to her as she thinks about her new class: Isaiah 40:28-29 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, The Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, And to him who has no might He increases strength.


Ellis Smith

Biography: Ellis Smith is a recent homeschooled graduate who used to attend CHFM where she first encountered Sign Language classes early in high school. She has completed two semesters of Sign Language classes through Butler County Community College and is planning to take the third and final class in the program this fall. This is Ellis' first time teaching but as she is the oldest of 9 kids she feels that her almost 19 years of leadership skills are up to the task! Ellis thoroughly enjoys "speaking" in Sign Language and lights up whenever someone takes the time to learn how to sign with her!


Debbie Sullivan

Biography: The teaching skills Debbie has acquired are through teaching her own daughter since 1st grade. Together they have learned many subjects but excelled in geography. She makes her home in El Dorado and owns an oilfield business there. This is the first time that she will delve into teaching the other children of CHFM. Her family has been members of CHFM for eight years and enjoys and cherishes the other families involved. Debbie appreciates this opportunity and she is SO looking forward to sharing the wonders of the world with your children.

Biography: Member volunteer who has the gift of nurturing, guiding, and teaching our pre-school/kindergarten children.


Susan Warner

Biography: Susan holds a BS in mathematics from Friends University. Susan has taught all high school level math through advanced placement calculus. She is married to Kevin and is the mother of three children whom she homeschools. The family attends Cornerstone Christian Church.

Tina Wheeler

Biography: Tina received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Friends University. She has had the benefit of teaching all ages and grade levels. Most of her career was in the Wichita public school system. In addition to teaching her three sons, Tina has taught water classes at the YMCA for 12 years. Besides teaching, she enjoys swimming, singing and traveling. The Wheeler family attends Metro East Baptist Church.


Mike Witherspoon

Biography: After a life-long career in public and Christian schooling, Mr.Witherspoon, though semi-retired, considers teaching at CHFM a privilege and unexpected opportunity to continue the mission of helping prepare a vanguard of Christian teens who move confidently and influentially into the larger culture, full of grace and truth.


Kristin Yost

Biography: Kristin Yost received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Wichita State University in 2003. She is passionate about teaching children and throughout her teaching career has taught a variety of levels from PreK to 5th grade. Her husband, Russ, works with the family business, Yost Auto Service. Russ and Kristin have been married for 13 years and have four children- Addison, Graham, Eleanor, and Silas. Kristin and the kids will begin their fifth year of homeschooling this fall.


Mont Yourdon

Biography: I am happily married with four children and one foster child ranging from 15 years old to 1 year old. I started off my career in education. I was a high school special education teacher for 16 years with the last 8 years focusing on math. Most recently I have started a new business as a marriage and family therapist. When I’m not doing therapy, or learning more about therapy, our family loves to get away to Colorado, see aunts and cousins, or do something sport related.
